Toledo is in Ohio, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. Getting around Toledo is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Excellent sushi, fantastic cozy atmosphere and great pricing. The fish was fresh and tasty, good slices for the price. The service was a little slow - the wait is long if you want to be seated right away show up super early or late on a weeknight. Yakitori honestly was a little too salty but the prices and portions are perfect to try and see what you like.

I really wanted to love Kengo given all the hype, but overall it was just an average experience for me, especially for the price point. The fish tasted fresh, but not noticeably fresher or better than other sushi spots in the area. Some rolls had far more rice than filling, and I was surprised I couldnβt even add a quail egg on top of my ikura nigiri. The biggest downside was the experience itself - only 23 seats and we waited about 2.5 hours to be seated. For me, the food simply didnβt justify that kind of wait or cost. Iβve had significantly better sushi in larger food cities, and even local delivery spots around Perrysburg/Bowling Green give larger sashimi/nigiri portions for less money and comparable freshness. I can appreciate the intimate atmosphere and quality ingredients, but personally I donβt think it lives up to the βbest sushi in the Midwestβ reputation.

Took my husband to the omakase for his birthday, expensive, but worth every penny. The food was incredible!! The staff is soo nice and friendly. Can't say enough good things about our experience.

Amazing Gem in Downtown Toledo. Iβm from New York, and the last thing I expected to do in Toledo was eat sushi. But my wife, who is from Toledo, wanted sushi, so I searched online for the best spots in town. Several restaurants came up, but the reviews for this one were outstanding. They donβt take reservationsβyou simply write your name on a board at the front door. We ended up waiting about two hours, but honestly, I didnβt mind at all. When our names were finally called and we were offered seats at the bar, we gladly took them. What followed was some of the best sushi Iβve had anywhere in Americaβbetter than many top restaurants in New York. The uni was incredible, the grilled avocado was delicious, and every dish was beautifully prepared. The service was classic Midwestern hospitalityβwarm, friendly, and personal. They even call you by your name. Danny was our amazing hostess. This place is truly a magical spot for sushi lovers. If youβre in Toledo, itβs an absolute must-visit. In my book: 3 Michelin stars and more. George

Awesome atmosphere and staff, the food was really good as well. Highly recommend but they donβt take reservations so youβd have to wait for a while before you could get in.
